Crossley Evans Ltd     May 2010

One of the largest scrap metal companies in the UK – Crossley Evans Ltd have recently taken delivery of a new Ing. Bonfiglioli scrap metal shear, which has been supplied by E H Hassell and Sons Ltd ( Uk and Eire Ing. Bonfiglioli dealer).

After detailed discussions, Adam Evans, Director at Crossley Evans Ltd, decided to visit various scrap metal yards and the Ing. Bonfiglioli factory to see first hand the performance of the transportable shears. Soon after this visit a 2000T shear was decided upon, complete with a Cummins engine, Rexroth pump, Parker valve block and 4 x reversible cutting blades.

“We have been using a combined shear / baler for a number of years and were looking to add another machine. We then heard that E H Hassell & Sons Ltd, had become the UK and Eire dealer for Ing. Bonfiglioli, and knew them, as we have 5 Sennebogen material handlers in our fleet (E H Hassells are also the UK and Eire Sennebogen dealer). So we decided to take a look at a Ing. Bonfiglioli shear.
 

Not having previously experienced Bonfiglioli products, I had my reservations, so decided to see first hand the shears in action and also their manufacturing facilities. I liked what I saw and decided to purchase the first Bonfiglioli 2000T shear in the UK.
 

Having used the shear now for more than a month, I can safely say, it out performs our existing shear hands down. If you need a shear, buy a Bonfiglioli shear, it will do exactly that all day. Since using the shear we are able to process the material around 3 times faster and are able to load considerably more product as the finished product is that much more compressed. Just as important we have also managed to reduce considerably the amount of manual cutting that is required on site, as the shear will cut through much thicker and longer material.”
 

Ing. Bonfiglioli are a family owned and managed company, with its manufacturing plant in Bologna Italy. They produce a range of scrap metal processing equipment and cranes for HGV’s.
 

Ian Hassell, the Managing Director of E H Hassell & Sons said: “We have now added the Ing. Bonfiglioli product range to our existing Sennebogen material handlers, allowing us to better service and support the scrap metal industry, our key market.”
